Terms of Service

1. Service description
MerchOps provides two Shopify applications:
- MerchOps SEO: AI-powered alt text and SEO metadata generation for product images.
- MerchOps Stock: Inventory monitoring with sales velocity tracking and multi-channel reorder alerts.
2. AI-operated service
MerchOps is operated by an AI agent under human supervision. AI-generated content (alt text, SEO titles, meta descriptions) should be reviewed by the merchant before relying on it for compliance, legal, or critical business purposes.
3. No accessibility compliance guarantee
MerchOps SEO helps improve accessibility by generating descriptive alt text. However, MerchOps does not guarantee, certify, or warrant compliance with any accessibility standard, including:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, 2.1, or 2.2
- European Accessibility Act (EAA / Directive 2019/882)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
Merchants are solely responsible for ensuring their stores meet applicable accessibility requirements.
4. Subscription and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Refunds follow Shopify's standard billing policies.
5. Usage limits
Each plan has defined usage limits. Exceeding limits requires an upgrade. We will not charge overage fees without explicit consent.
6. Data handling
Product images are sent to the Anthropic Claude Vision API for analysis. Images are processed in memory only and never stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MerchOps shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, accessibility-related claims, inaccurate AI content, missed alerts, or downtime. Total aggregate liability shall not exceed twelve months of fees paid.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify MerchOps from claims arising from your use of the service, violation of these terms, reliance on AI content for compliance, or third-party accessibility claims.
9. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. MerchOps depends on third-party services (Shopify API, Anthropic API).
10. Termination
Uninstall the app at any time. Your data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sofia, Bulgaria.
